Responsibilities:
- Identify schema changes with the goal of normalization
- Remove redundant data storage
- Use appropriate data types to improve performance
- Ensure industry security standards are properly implemented
- Perform SQL Server-related database customer delivery and demand requests (scripts, recoveries)
- Assist and contribute to documentation for SQL database column mapping and data sources
- Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet contract and customer expectations
- Provide weekly status/activities to leadership
Requirements:
- 5+ years of relevant database administration experience
- Knowledge of Windows-based technologies
- Ability to create and update SQL database structure with the goal of improving performance
- Ability to generate SQL scripts from scratch and from other data sources
- Experience performing general troubleshooting database maintenance activities including backup and recovery, and capacity planning.
- Experience in managing schemas, indexing, objects, and partitioning the tables.
- Ability to develop, document, and ensure adherence to technical standards
- Experience with implementing, performance tuning, and supporting multiple databases.
- Experience in cloud (AWS, Azure) database as a service model and system implementations required.
- Experience working within Agile software development methodology
- Knowledge of code-first deployment process and versioning practices in Microsoft Visual Studio Database project.
- Ability to assess and correct issues in real time
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Eligible for clearance
- Must be a U.S citizen
- IAT Level I Certification: A+ce, CCNA Security Security, Network+ ce, SSCP
Preferred Qualifications and experience:
- ITIL certification or open to obtain certification
- SECRET Clearance
- Higher degree in a relevant discipline
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills with a problem-solving ability
